How to get $300 from Sandy Spring Bank [EXPIRED]

Editor’s Note: As of April 15th, 2023, Sandy Spring Bank is no longer offering this new account bonus. For other bank bonuses, check out our post on the best bank bonuses and promotions or click here to sign up for our email newsletter and get notified of new bank promotions.

The terms for getting the $300 bonus are really simple:

  1. Open a new checking account at Sandy Spring bank,
  2. establish a direct deposit of at least $500 within 45 days of opening the account and continue for a minimum of 4 months (3 statement cycles after opening cycle)
  3. Get your bonus within 125 days of meeting the requirements.

This is available to residents of DE, MD, PA, WV, VA or Washington D.C. This offer is only available to new customers and you can't have had an account within the last 90 days..

The only downside to this offer is the longer time frame but the My Free Banking checking account has no monthly maintenance fees so you won’t be charged for waiting. (there also appears to be an early account termination fee of $25 if you close within 180 days)

How Does This Offer Compare?

If you live in the geographic footprint, it’s a pretty strong offer from a basic checking account. There is a downside of having to wait so many statement cycles but without any fees, it’s just your time. Plus, for a basic checking account, it checks all the boxes and might be a good place to do your brick and mortar banking.

As for the bonus amount, $300 is pretty good. Here are the nationally available offers, many of which require a direct deposit but not for nearly as long a period of time:
