Beware this Costco gas station scam going around right now – someone pulls up behind you and asks to use your membership card because they forgot theirs. The scam is that they may be trying to use a stolen credit card. When pumping gas, Costco doesn't ask for your ZIP code because they have it via your membership card. This allows a thief to use a stolen credit card without knowing the owner's ZIP code. If this is discovered, your membership number is linked to the transaction and you will have to deal with the repercussions. Do not swipe for someone else! If someone really has forgotten their card, the attendant can swipe for them on a case by case basis. #costco #costcotiktok
